A
challenging 36-hole golf facility located on the fringe of Oregon's
wine
country, just 20 minutes west of downtown Portland.
The Reserve
functions under a unique format by which private members as well as the
public are able to enjoy the full range of resort-style amenities. The
Reserve features two wonderful and challenging courses set amongst
rolling
terrain, stands of timber, and Gordon and Butternut Creeks. The
championship
courses are designed by award-winning architects John Fought and Bob
Cupp.
The South
Course
designed
by John Fought
John
Fought, president of
John Fought Design, has accumulated an impressive resume in the game of
golf, both as a player and now as a golf course architect. The 1977
U.S.
Amateur Champion and two-time PGA Tour winner, Fought has played
tournament
golf from the Masters at Augusta to the linkslands of Scotland. When
his
illustrious playing career was cut short by injuries, he redirected his
passion for the game into the art and science of golf course design.
The North
Course
designed by Bob Cupp
Bob Cupp
is acknowledged worldwide
as one of today's premier golf course architects. Having worked
for
fifteen years as the senior designer for the Jack Nicklaus Golf Course
Design Company, Cupp, in 1984, branched out on his own. From the moment
he began working independently, Cupp's own golf courses began to draw
serious
attention and rave reviews. In 1992, Cupp won Golf World's prestigious
"Designer of the Year" award.

Langdon
Farms Golf Club was designed by award-winning architects
John
Fought and Robert Cupp and shares course architecture traditions with
great
courses from around the world. Measuring 6,931 yards from the back
tees,
but only 5,246 from the forward tees, the course puts a premium on
accurate
iron shots for low scores, yet remains very playable for the
recreational
golfer.
A
commitment to superior playing
conditions, and excellent drainage, make Langdon Farms the best place
to
play every day of the year. Langdon plows through a pastoral Willamette
Valley setting with recessed fairways that run like canyons between
high
grassy mounds. The signature hole is hole #8, a 464-yard, par 4, which
is also the number one handicap hole. The charm of this hole is the
original
barn of the Langdon Farms, circa 1918. The barn is considered part of
the
hole design so you need to stay to the right side of the fairway in
order
to avoid it.
Water
hazards (two ponds and a creek)
come into play on four holes. The restaurant and pro shop are housed in
a newly-built red barn. One of the outstanding features of the facility
is a nine-hole putting green, complete with sand bunkers. The club has
done a great job of keeping the farm theme throughout the club.

Ghost
Creek at Pumpkin Ridge is one of the premier golf courses on
the West Coast. Its superb Bob Cupp design provides a Pacific Northwest
golf experience that rivals the most elite clubs and courses. Selected
by Golf Digest as The Best New Public Course and #5 on Golf Magazine's
1996 list of The Top 100 You Can Play in the United States, Ghost Creek
has lived up to those distinctions. The 1993 and 1994 NIKE TOUR
Championships
were staged here, as was the stroke play portion of the 1996 U.S.
Amateur
Champioship won by Tiger Woods! Its championship design, serene
setting,
and impeccable, year-round conditioning make Ghost Creek at Pumpkin
Ridge
a "must play".
Hailed
as one of the nation's premier
semi-private golf courses, Ghost Creek's Robert Cupp-designed layout
emulates
traditional course architecture with gently rolling terrain and a creek
that reappears throughout. Ghost Creek was rated in 2000, as the #22
course
in Golf Magazines's "Top 100 Places You Can Play in the U.S. 2000."
Ghost
Creek was recently selected to host the 2006 U.S. Senior Open.
