ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive Boston
Arrive today in the beautiful city of Boston. A complimentary transfer is provided to your Trafalgar hotel. Your Trafalgar Tour Director will be at the hotel this afternoon to answer any questions you may have.
Hotel: Omni Parker House

Day 2 - Boston – Maine Coast – Bar Harbor (2 nights)
This morning we head north traveling through Portsmouth, New Hampshire, into the "holiday state" of Maine. The journey today takes us along the state's scenic shoreline, offering a glimpse into its rich past in whaling, shipbuilding and lobstering. The quaint villages along the way typify quintessential New England. Our journey takes us along a narrow spit of land to Mount Desert Island and the seaside town of Bar Harbor for our two-night stay. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome drink and New England Lobster Bake! (Full Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)
Hotel: Bar Harbor Regency Hotel

Day 3 - Acadia National Park excursion
This morning visit beautiful Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park, the only National Park in New England. Its wooded roads offer views of quiet ponds and rocky beaches, highlighted by the blaze of autumn colors. A visit to the top of Mount Cadillac provides sweeping views of the park, Bar Harbor and the islands of Frenchman's Bay. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Bar Harbor – maybe take an optional whale watching cruise or simply relax in this quaint village. (Full Breakfast)

Day 4 - Bar Harbor – Pinkham Notch – North Conway
After breakfast we leave the Maine coast and turn inland, through the colorful woodlands of maples, birch and sumac. Entering New Hampshire, we stop at Pinkham Notch for a gondola ride to the top of Wildcat Mountain, for incredible views of the White Mountains. We will spend the night in the town of North Conway, a popular year-round resort. After dinner enjoy a presentation on the flora and fauna of the White Mountains. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Hotel: Fox Ridge Resort

Day 5 - North Conway – Woodstock
More beautiful views await today as we travel through New Hampshire into Vermont, New England's most rural state. Tiny villages and remote farm houses are framed by the striking autumn colors. We arrive in picturesque Woodstock, a quaint resort town nestled in the Green Mountains. Visit Billings Farm and Museum for a look back into New England farm life. Tonight take a walk and enjoy the breathtaking views all around. (Full Breakfast)
Hotel: Woodstock Inn & Spa

Day 6 - Woodstock – Fort Ticonderoga – Lake Placid
The historic importance of the region is brought to life today as we visit Fort Ticonderoga, located at the southern tip of Lake Champlain. Built in the 1750s, the fort played a strategic role in colonial and revolutionary history. From here we continue into New York State and the Adirondack Mountains, the largest protected land in America. Dotted with alpine lakes and beautiful mountains, the Adirondacks are a delight to visit. We overnight in the village of Lake Placid and tour the 1980 Winter Olympic Arena. Later, there's free time for a leisurely stroll and maybe capture a photo of autumn trees reflecting in the still waters of the lake. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Hotel: Hilton Lake Placid Resort

Day 7 - Lake Placid – Albany – Springfield
Magnificent scenery will continue to take your breath away as we travel south out of the Adirondacks and join the wooded shores of Lake George. This area is steeped in colonial history; learn more about the epic battles between the French and British to maintain control of this strategic waterway. Our journey continues to the state capital, Albany, located at the head waters of the Hudson River and terminus of the Erie Canal. After a visit to the impressive Empire State Plaza, we cross into western Massachusetts and the rolling countryside of the Berkshires. Here, we find out more about the area's most famous artist on our visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Next we arrive in the city of Springfield, where you will have a chance to visit the NBA's Hall of Fame, located adjacent to our hotel. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Hotel: Hilton Garden Inn

Day 8 - Springfield – Lexington & Concord – Depart Boston
This morning, our drive takes us into the heart of Revolutionary War history with a visit to the towns of Lexington and Concord, made famous in Longfellow's poem about Paul Revere's Midnight Ride. It was in these two small villages that in April 1775, the first shots of the American Revolution were fired. We will also see the Minuteman statue, Concord Bridge and Lexington Green. From here, we continue back to Boston, via its historic Back Bay and North End neighborhoods. A complimentary transfer is provided to Boston Logan Airport. There will also be a stop at Trafalgar's Boston hotel for passengers wishing to enjoy more time in this historic city. (Full Breakfast)
