The
Doral
Tesoro Golf Club exemplifies designer Jay Morrish's vision of
maximizing the land's natural features while minimizing drastic changes
to its topography. Nestled amoung the gently rolling hills of a former
cattle ranch, Doral Tesoro will lead goflers through visually striking
natural creeks, oak-lined fairways, distinctive rock outcroppings and dramatic
changes in elevations.
Stretching 7150 yards, five
sets of tees allow each player to choose an appropriate distance and level
of challenge. All players will be tested on the 11th hole, a lengthy 486
yard, par 4, playing to a narrow, elongated green guarded on one side by
a waste bunker and a pond, while a large white Floridian sand bunker guards
the right side of the green. Protected by trees and water, the two shortest
“drivable” par 4’s of 320 yards or less are equally challenging. The namesake
creeks are the dominant visual feature and figure prominently in the design
and strategy of thirteen holes, along with several lakes and ponds. The
facility also offers a 10-1/2 acre practice facility with two putting greens
and a chipping and short game area. |
